Approval of Minutes of 3/9/12 minutes, MSP. 2. Graduate Faculty Application Review • Approve all applications at status recommended by sub-committee. MSP 3. Announcements a. Graduate Thesis Awards Nominations due March 23rd i. Sub-committee Krajewski and Simpson will start review ii. May have less/no monetary award due to lapsing of past bequest, currently under investigation b. Celebration of Student Research and Creativity, April 13, 2012 • Volunteer for judging and participating in celebration for graduate students 4. Hooding Ceremony at Graduation a. Hooding ceremony will be done informally by individual programs b. CLS and CBA Graduate Students Hooding 9 am, SAH (except DPT) at 1 pm in Zielke Suites at the La Crosse Center c. DPT students will be hooded at the Main Arena at 2 pm with UG ceremony. d. Encourage faculty in programs to participate in Hooding Ceremony 5. Graduate Assistantship Eligibility Requirements a. Recent Changes: i. Must be a student to get an assistantship (must be enrolled or in GRC 799) ii. To get financial aid, students must be seeking a degree and enrolled in credits that are part of the declared degree program (this is Financial aid policy). iii. Perhaps language could be: “Credits must be applicable to the student’s declared degree program.” (Changing from “required for”.) b. Will bring the document to the Program Directors in a later meeting before voting on approval. 6. New Charge Sheet from Faculty Senate, continued a. Oversight Responsibilities – Senate suggested a table of designated oversight responsibilities. Changes noted in red. Policy Course Instructor Exceeding the maximum credit load in a semester. Repetition of a course in which a C is earned.
