1. The meeting commenced at 3:30pm.
2. Hongying Xu and Leslee Pulton proposed a new General Education course, Introduction to
Chinese Civilization. Motion to approve this course for general education. The motion passed
with 7 in favor, 1 opposed, 1 abstention.
3. Minutes from the last meeting were unanimously approved.
4. Updates from the chair on the 30 credit transfer committee, on the search for new assessment
software, and on presenting the SLO and Procedures Revisions document to Faculty Senate.
5. Updates were given by Sam Cocks and Mary Tollefson on Gen Ed assessment compliance. The
committee discussed possible repercussions to courses which remain out of compliance.
6.
Mary Tollefson provided updates on the sequences for inclusion in the Associate’s Degree.
7. Discussion continued on the reporting of assessment findings.
8.
Informational Items:
The College of Science and Health approved the substitution of ENGL 102 from UW-Stevens
Point for ENG 110 in the General Education program.
The CLS Dean's Office approved completion of the General Education Skills requirement for the
AA degree with 12 credits instead of the required 13 credits. The student completed the GE Math
requirement with a 3-credit transfer General Education math course and PHL 101, Logic from
UW-L. The student has completed 37 General Education Liberal Studies courses (36 are
required) and to date has 93 credits earned.
9. The meeting adjourned at 4:30pm.
