Meeting convened at 1:05 2. Introduction of Committee and Guests from ATC 3. M. Elhindi presented issues around the charge of designing the classroom of today and the future. He also presented the task about the use of lecture capture on the UWL campus. a. Jorstad discussed classroom environments and the involvement of faculty and student interests/preferences. b. Mayer discussed the past including an uneven use of technology. Adding technology today often involves remodel of the space. He also emphasized the costs involved in replacing hardware at the “end of useful life”; $3.5 M was the cost of acquiring the tech used in Centennial. c. Wirkus talked about lecture-capture. The use of Mediasite for this purpose is expanding. Currently used in varied subjects, by different instructors, and viewed by different audiences both on and off campus. Mediasite solutions involve hardware and subscription of their software. d. M.Elhindi asked for direction and advice about classrooms and lecture capture. e. Discussion ensued. f. Galbraith proposed survey development and Elhindi will bring some potential resources (personnel and survey instruments). 4. M. Elhindi led a brief discussion of “Turn it in” software to help monitor original work for plagiarism. This will be investigated further. 5. The meeting adjourned at 2:17 Bob Jecklin Recording
