Meeting convened at 3:30 PM in 3200 Centennial Hall

1. Approval of minutes from 11/14/14 meeting (M/S/P 7-0-0)
2. Discussion of changes to APC guidelines
• Interdisciplinary program section to be added (section “F”)
– Omit appendix with examples to maintain agreement with other Faculty
Senate committee guidelines
• Previously existing sections
– APC views it as unnecessary to change the wording regarding the length of
the document to be submitted. Any party concerned with the appropriate
length of their submission should discuss it with the chair of APC for
clarification.
– Remove the phrase in bold letters at the top of page 2 (above “A. Notice
of Intent (as described by UW-System)”, and replace it with the phrase,
“APC requires more than just a Notice of Intent, ...”. The new phase
should not be in bold letters.
– Remove the line that begins, “AND, the following ...”, just after section
A.
– Remove item D.2. – no current strategic plan to refer to.
– Modify item D.3. to state, “What evidence is there for demand for this
program?”.
– Remove item D.4. – no need to do “market research” at pre-authorization
stage.
– Modify item E.4. to state, “Identify resource needs for the program.”.
