USDA FARM SERVICE AGENCY
Farm Service Agency (FSA) is equitably serving all farmers, ranchers, and agricultural partners through the delivery of effective and efficient agricultural programs for all U.S. citizens. Please find below the current programs available.
Crop Certification Deadline is July 15, 2013.
After spring planting, producers should certify their 2013 acreage. Filing an accurate acreage report for all crops and land uses,
including failed acreage and prevented planting acreage, can prevent the loss of benefits for a variety programs. Failed acreage
must be reported within 15 days of the disaster event and before disposition of the crop. Prevented planting must be reported no
later than 15 days after the final planting date. Acreage reports are required for many FSA programs. For crops enrolled in programs other than NAP (Noninsured Drop Disaster Assistance Program), acreage reports are to be certified by the July 15th.
Deadline for corn, cotton, grain sorghum, peanuts, soybeans, and many other crops, including many fruits and vegetables.
Farm Reconstitutions Must Be Requested by August 1, 2013.
For FSA program purposes, tracts having the same owner and operator are grouped under one farm serial number. When changes in ownership or operation take place, a farm reconstitution is necessary. The reconstitution is the process of combining or
dividing farms or tracts of land based on the farming operation. Note, reconstitutions must be requested by August 1 for farms
enrolled in the specific programs.
These programs listed are just a few highlighted, but to learn more about USDA FSA programs and in-depth requirements
for one’s listed, please visit your local USDA FSA office.

USDA NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION SERVICE
NRCS works with landowners through conservation planning and assistance designed to benefit the soil, water, air, plants, and
animals that result in productive lands and healthy ecosystems. Please find below the current programs available.
Conservation Stewardship Program Application Due June 14, 2013.
The voluntary program allows producers in conserving natural resources while also maintaining or increasing the productivity
of their operations. Although applications are accepted all year, farmers, ranchers and forestland owners interested in CSP
should submit application by June 14 to their local NRCS office to ensure they are considered for their year’s funding.
Wetlands Reserve Program & Grassland Reserve Program.
The Wetland Reserve Program helps landowners resource and protect wetland ecosystems on private and tribal lands. They may
select a permanent or 30 year easement or a restoration cost share agreement, retaining ownership of the land once the agreement is in place. More than 11,000 private landowners participating in WRP are already protecting more than 2.6 million acres
of American’s wetlands. A year round of funding authorizes $225 million to enroll up to 100,00 additional acres in WRP and
$47 million to enroll up to 200,000 additional acres into GRP, both nationwide.
To learn more about NRCS programs, please visit your local USDA NRCS office: http;//offices.sc.egov.usda.gov.
