UW ‐ LA   CROSSE   TRANSFER   CREDIT   REPORT   NARRATIVE  

 

This   narrative   is   designed   to   assist   with   understanding   your   transfer   credit   report.

   An   evaluation   of   your   transfer   credits   will   begin   after   completion   of   the   steps   outlined   in   your   admissions   packet.

  Once   your   evaluation   is   complete,   we   will   notify   you   via   email   and   direct   you   to   your   WINGS   Student   Center   where   you   can   view   your   transfer   credit   report.

  

 

The   following   are   codes   and   explanations   that   may   appear   on   a   Transfer   Credit   Report:  

GEL   If   GEL   (General   Elective)   is   listed,   then   there   is   no   equivalent.

    Credits   may   be   applied   toward   graduation.

 

000   (Department   elective)   If   department   abbreviation   and   000   (elective)   is   listed   in   the   UWL   title,   the   credits   may   be   applied   to   the   major   or   minor,   unless   otherwise   restricted.

 

000L   If   000L   is   listed   in   the   UWL   title,   lower   division   credit   will   be   granted   (freshman   &   sophomore   level   course   work;   100   &   200   numbered   courses.)  

000U   If   000U   is   listed   in   the   UWL   title,   upper   division   credit   will   be   granted   (junior   &   senior   level   course   work;   300   &   400   numbered   courses.)     A   minimum   of   40   credits   must   be   earned   at   this  

300/400   level.

 

TIP     If   TIP   is   listed   in   the   grade   column,   the   course   is   “Transfer   in   Progress”   or   currently   in   progress   at   the   time   the   transfer   credit   report   was   completed.

 

 

 

 

TFO   TFO   (two   for   one)   indicates   a   student   has   taken   two   or   more   transfer   courses   which   are   equal   to   one   UWL   course.

 

 

The   following   codes   are   used   to   identify   coursework   which   is   applicable   toward   the   general   education   categories:
