Call For Papers Organized by: ISPRS WG IV/5 China University of Mining & Technology (CUMT) Dear Colleagues, It gives me a great pleasure to invite you to Xuzhou to join the Workshop on Global Spatial Grids and Cloud-based Services (GSG-CBS). This event is jointly run as the WebMGS 2013 and the DMGIS 2013 workshop. The Global Spatial Grid (GSG) is an important spatial data model/structure for global spatial data organization, integration, management, visualization, sharing and location based services. Parallel computing and cloud environments are providing new solutions for GSG to better serve global mapping, multidimensional visualization, geospatial analytics, dynamic representation and collaborative services. A workshop on the global spatial grid and web/cloud-based services will not only benefit the scientific researchers, system developers and service providers, but also facilitate the development and applications of virtual globes and web/cloud based geospatial services and collaborative environments. With more than 5000 years of history, Xuzhou is renowned as the hometown of Liubang, the first emperor of the Han dynasty. The mysterious culture of the Han dynasty is evidenced by the tombs of the emperors and the Han’s terra-cotta warriors. Xuzhou provides pleasurable touring, comfortable accommodation and good transport systems. We look forward to welcoming you in Xuzhou. Yours sincerely, Prof. Lixin Wu Co-sponsored by: Chair of Organizing Committee of Global Spatial Grids and Cloud-based Services ISPRS WG VI/1 Topics of interest The topics will focus on, but are not limited to the following areas: Global spatial grids on the planet Earth surface and systems Digital Earth and virtual globes for geovisualization and geoanalytics Website: Web and cloud-based geospatial services www.cumtklei.cn/e GEOSS data integration and shared access 3D/4D geospatial modeling and dynamic updating n/gsgcbs.htm Global spatial analysis and simulation Parallel geocomputation and geovisualization Social and organizational issues in web-based and collaborative environments Geospatial Service Web Keynote speakers Deren Li Wuhan University, CUMT, China on Remote Sensing Cloud Jing Guifei National Remote Sensing Center of China on Web-service of China Beidou Satellites Ning Jing National Uni. of Defense Technology, China on High-performance GIS―HiGIS Submission Abstracts and full papers are submitted at http://www.cumtklei.cn/en/Registration.htm.
