Nay Pyi Taw – Myanmar
Nay Pyi Taw is a new capital of the Republic of the
Union of Myanmar. Centrally located, it is 391 km
from Yangon and 302 km from Mandalay. As of 2009,
the population was 925,000. The city is one of the
world’s 10 fastest-growing cities. Population density
is 340 per square mile (130/km2). The average
temperature in Oct-Nov is about 27°C. The environs
of Nay Nyi Taw comprise 8 administrative townships:
Zeyarthiri,
Pohbbathiri,
Uttarathiri,
Zabuthiri,
Dekhinathiri, Pyinmana, Leway, and Tatkone. The
conference venue (M.I.C.C II) is located in the
Zabuthiri Township. The Nay Pyi Taw airport is about
30 minutes drive from the city center.

We are delighted to invite you to the 35th Asian
Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS) 2014
which will be held in the new capital of Myanmar,
Nay Pyi Taw from 27 to 31 October 2014. ACRS is
one of the largest remote sensing conferences in
Asia. The conference is organized by ACRS Local
Organizing
Committee
of
Myanmar,
Asia
Association on Remote Sensing (AARS), and
Geospatial and Resource Center. The Theme
“SENSING
FOR
REINTEGRATION
OF
SOCIETIES” will show how scientific research can
contribute to the emerging societies and
communities in the region. The conference will be a
platform for a gathering of students, teachers,
professors, professionals, researchers, scientists,
inventors, policy makers and business people. They
will promote their findings and will exchange their
knowledge among friends and colleagues at the
conference. The latest technologies and products
on remote sensing will be presented at the
commercial exhibition. Moreover, the events such
as technical tours, a cultural excursion, cultural
night, and student night will attract your partners,
friends and colleagues to ACRS 2014 in Nay Pyi
