Position: Assistant Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders – Audiology
Department: School of Communication Sciences and Disorders
Hayes Hill Title: Assistant Professor (C40NN)
Position Description: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses; supervise students in clinical practicum
placements; engage in research and scholarship activities; serve as capstone project adviser for AuD
students; engage in service to the department, university, and profession. AuD courses are taught
simultaneously to local UWSP students and distant students at UW-Madison via videoconferencing; some
AuD courses are taught online; AuD lab courses, clinical practicum supervision, and capstone advising take
place locally. All undergraduate coursework is taught on the UWSP campus. All interest areas will be
considered; vestibular assessment and treatment, auditory pathologies, educational audiology, and/or
amplification are preferred.
Department/University Description: The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (SCSD) at
the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point offers an M.S. in Communication Sciences and
Disorders-Speech-Language Pathology, and a B.S in Communication Sciences and Disorders. The Clinical
Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) is a consortium program between the SCSD at UWSP and the Department
of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Au.D. and M.S.
programs are accredited by the Council of Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language

Qualifications:
Required:
-Doctoral degree (typically a Ph.D. or AuD, but comparable degrees will be considered) with emphasis in
audiology or hearing science. ABD will be considered at instructor level, with doctoral degree required for
retention after the first year.
-Eligibility for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American
Speech-Language-Hearing Association. CCC-A is required for retention after the first year.
-Eligibility for Wisconsin state licensure in audiology. WI license is required for retention after the first
year.
Preferred:
-Ph.D
-CCC-A by the date of hire
-WI audiology license by the date of hire
-Experience in clinical supervision, teaching, and research
Appointment Date: January 2017
Terms of Employment: Academic year (9 months), with the possibility of an additional summer contract.
