2016 FET SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION Federation of Environmental Technologists, Inc Application Deadline: September 8, 2016 Scholarships to be Awarded: October 26, 2016 Description The Federation of Environmental Technologists, Inc. (FET) is pleased to offer Scholarships to students pursuing a degree in an Environmental field related to the management and prevention of air, water, and solid/hazardous waste pollution, and environmental health and safety. Scholarship recipients will also be given free admittance to the FET 2016 Annual Conference & Exhibition on October 26th and 27th and free membership in FET through June 30, 2017. Application Requirements and Information to Submit Eligible students must be currently enrolled in a field of study that relates to Environmental management, and may be in any year of study. Preference will be given on the basis of scholastic achievement and involvement in environmental activities. Note: Previous FET Scholarship recipients are ineligible to apply. Those who have applied in the past and did not receive a FET Scholarship can re-apply. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents and attend a college, university or technical school in the United States. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WITH THE HEADINGS LISTED: 1. APPLICANT INFORMATION: Your name, address, telephone number, email address; also include a permanent mailing address if your current address is only through this school year. 2. ACADEMICS: Name of college or other school at which you are currently enrolled and Year of Study, and type of Degree you are pursuing. Current grade point average (Including GPA scale – out of 4.0 or 5.0), and class standing. If you are pursuing a graduate degree you may also provide your undergraduate academic status. 3. CURRENT PARTICIPATION IN ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVITIES & EXPERIENCE: Listing and brief description of environmental activities (paid or volunteer) that you have been or are currently involved with. 4. COURSEWORK RELATED TO ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH AND/OR SAFETY FIELD: Current field of study and courses taken to date relating to the environmental, health and/or safety field. If you are currently pursuing a graduate degree, list undergraduate courses relating to the environmental field. 5. FUTURE ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT: A statement of qualifications and career objectives including the environmental issues of interest to the applicant, and the role the applicant expects to play in addressing these issues (no longer than one page) 6. FINANCIAL NEED: A brief description of financial need. 7. REFERENCES: Provide the names of 2 Academic References with phone numbers and email addresses to validate grade point average, class standing, and student aptitude for this field. (Do not submit Reference Letters.)
