about the faculty
Professor Stacey Berk (oboe) performs
as principal oboist with the Central
Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra. In
addition to leading the oboe studio at
UW-Stevens Point, she enjoys teaching
a variety of music courses. She is also
an active composer and her humorous
double reed ensembles are played
throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Dr. Andrea Splittberger-Rosen
(clarinet) is an experienced teacher
of clarinetists of all ages and levels.
She performs regularly as a solo and
chamber music recitalist playing an
array of clarinets, including a 6-key
classical period replica.

Dr. Patricia Holland (bassoon)
performs as principal bassoonist
with the Fox Valley Symphony
Orchestra as well as with various
summer festivals. In addition to
teaching, Dr. Holland currently
serves as Chair of the Department
of Music at UW-Stevens Point.
Professor David Hastings
(saxophone), equally at home with
classical as well as jazz saxophone,
performs frequently in a variety of
settings ranging from the Voyageur
Saxophone Quartet to the solo stage
to his newly founded jazz series at
the Scarabocchio Art Museum.
Dr. Tara Schwab performs as principal
flutist with the Central Wisconsin
Symphony and tours internationally
with her flute and guitar duo, Duo
Amantis.
* This year Dr. Schwab will not be
available at Woodwind Workshops
Day, but will be hosting the annual
Wisconsin Flute Festival at UW-Stevens
Point on Saturday, March 5, 2016.

Event is open to 7th-12th grade students.
Parents and teachers are welcome to observe.
All Things Oboe (and English Horn)
• Receive coaching on your prepared music
• Develop techniques such as vibrato and
high note control
• Practice reed making and reed fixing
• Perform in an oboe ensemble
Clarinet Coaching Day
• Receive group and individual coaching
• Play in a large clarinet choir
• Study fundamentals and more
advanced techniques
• Focus on practicing and playing
very musically
