This revision forms a part of and modifies the Bidding Documents dated April 22, 2016, and is to
be acknowledged in the Proposal Form. This addendum consists of 2 pages and 5
attachments. The descriptions below are intended as a summary only of the changes to the
Drawings. Bidders are required to incorporate all changes to the Drawings into their Bid,
regardless of whether or not the changes are listed below.

CHANGES TO THE SPECIFICATIONS:
1. Section 00 40 01 Proposal Form—
a. Replace in its entirety with the form attached.
CLARIFICATIONS:
1.
Bidder question: Huntsville Utilities typically runs the gas line and sets the new meter with the
mechanical contractor picking it up from there. Will the site contractor have any responsibility
for the new gas service? Answer: No. Huntsville Utilities will construct the gas line from the
existing main up to the meter; they will also install the meter. Beyond the meter, the building
contractor will install the new gas line to the building. The site contractor will have no
responsibility for the installation of gas service. All of this is covered in note #2 on sheet C104.
2.
Bidder question: Can you confirm that the Pedestrian Bridge and Picnic Tables should be
included in the Civil Site package? Answer: Yes. Both of these items, as well as anything shown
on the civil drawings (excluding the gas service), are to be considered a part of the civil site
package, unless specifically noted as being in the Building Contractor’s or Owner’s scope.
3.
Bidder question: The demo shown on sheet C102, is it actually part of this bid package and not
part of the previous Demo Bid package? Just want to clarify that the demo items on this sheet
C102are to be included in this bid. Answer: Yes. The demolition plan shown on sheet C102
takes into account what will already be demolished as a result of the previous demolition
package handled by the university. All items on this demolition plan (sheet C102) are to be
included in this bid package.
4.
Bidder question: What are the build-ups on the residence hall building pad and the mechanical
yard building pad? Answer: This design is not yet complete, and will be a part of the Building
Package.
5.
C107—
a. Clarifications to Note 4 about the ADEM permit -i. Before the site contractor (SC) commences work, the SC is responsible for
transferring the ADEM permit from Alabama A&M to the SC within 30 days of
execution of the SC’s contract. The SC is responsible for installation and
maintenance of erosion control measures until the permit is transferred to the
building contractor (BC).
ii. Before the BC commences work, the BC is responsible for transferring the ADEM
permit from the SC to the BC within 30 days of execution of the BC’s
contract. The BC is responsible for installation and maintenance of erosion
control measures until construction is complete.
b. Clarification to Note 5 about the temporary fence -- The Building Contractor will
become responsible for maintaining the fence within 30 days after execution of the
Building Contractor’s contract. It is anticipated that the Building Contractor’s contract
be executed by July 29.
