RSEL Mini Grant Statement of Assurance
(Revised October 2014)
For Research, Service, and Educational Leadership (RSEL) mini-grants (up to $500), the advisor does not have to
write a letter of support for the student. Instead the advisor may simply confirm that he or she has reviewed the
grant application and supports the project. To do so, check the following boxes, then sign and date this Statement
of Assurance.

□ The project described in the narrative is a worthwhile project in the field
□ The project meets the department’s expectations for scholarship, service, and/or educational leadership.
□ The budget is reasonable, and expenses are those that the student would otherwise have to pay out of pocket
(i.e., are not expenses already being paid for through a different funding source)
*If an advisor does not check all three boxes, explain reason in the “Additional Advisor Comments” section below.
Additional Advisor Comments (optional) Please use this space to 1) offer additional support for the project or 2)
