Acute Neurological Unit
Evaluated and treated patients with cerebral vascular accidents, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries,
brain tumor resections. Patient care was frequently conducted in the intensive care unit.
Medical Rehabilitation Unit
Patients seen twice daily for morning self-cares, adaptive equipment training, cooking groups, and
afternoon therapies. Additional experience included weekly team meetings and home evaluations prior to
patient discharge. Special projects included a handwriting program proposal and a gardening in-service.

School-based occupational therapy in six schools in Pepin County
Worked in a collaborative team representing school-based occupational therapy, gained pediatric
experience with individuals in the regular and special education environments with autism, Asberger's
Syndrome, mental retardation, Angelman's Syndrome, cerebral palsy, and Cockaynes's Syndrome, carried
out standardized and functional evaluations, collaborated with individualized education plan (IEP) teams in
goal formation, developed and carried out treatment plans, developed written evaluations, educated staff on

were also part of this experience.
