KCCI-TV.com, IA 04-04-06 Medics Treat ISU Student Who Inhaled Fumes Woman Taken To Hospital As Precaution DES MOINES, Iowa -- Emergency crews were called to Iowa State University on Tuesday morning after a student inhaled nitric acid. The accident happened shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday. Medics said the student was working on a chemistry experiment inside Gilman Hall when there was a small reaction.
