LET’S TALK
HOUSING
FALL HOUSING PLANS
DATES TO NOTE
The grip of winter has barely subsided and
we’re talking about fall? We are because we
want to remind you the returning residents have
priority in choosing rooms for the upcoming fall.
Sign-up for the Suites@201 and Hyer Hall has
already begun and will continue until those
spaces fill.
APRIL–MAY
Individuals signing up for the Suites@201 must
have graduated from high school in or before
2014. At the time of publication, there were still
openings for qualified individuals. Contracts for
the Suites@201 are for the full academic
year—you will not be able to “opt out”
at the end of the fall semester.
Seeking housing in Hyer Hall for next fall?
You must turn 21 years of age prior to the
start of classes (i.e., your birthday must be
on or before September 5). At the time of
publication, there were still openings for
qualified individuals. Residents of Hyer
Hall are able to “opt out” at the end of
the fall semester.
Sign-up for other halls began April 1 and
runs through the last day of finals. You will
need to make a $125 housing prepayment
before turning in your contract; please plan
accordingly.
Room selection takes into account your current
assignment (you are typically able to retain the
same room from spring 2016 to fall 2016).
At this time, Residential Living does not
expect to offer living spaces in floor kitchens
or Pray-Sims lounge rooms.
Information about when, where and how you
sign up for fall housing was sent to your UWSP
email account in early April. Information is also
available on our website, www.uwsp.edu/
resliving.
ROOM SIGN-UP FOR FALL 2016
Residents will be able to select their room for fall 2016. Details have been
distributed via your UWSP email account and are posted online.
You must pay your $125 housing prepayment BEFORE you can submit a fall
2016 contract. Please plan accordingly. Current spring residents will be able to
complete their housing contract online.
MAY 16–20
FINALS WEEK
Twenty-four hour quiet hours are in effect during finals week. Residents
who have lofts to dismantle are strongly encouraged to do so prior to finals
week. Residents must vacate their room within 24 hours after their last final
or by 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21, whichever comes first. All halls will close
no later than 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21. Individuals participating in
commencement should contact their hall director not later than
May 9 to arrange for a later checkout.
MAY 20
LAST DAY TO MAKE ROOM CHANGES FOR FALL 2016
Room changes (and/or contracts) will be accepted from current residents
until this date. After May 20, the next available time to make a room change is
during week 2 room changes of the fall semester. Contracts received after this
date will be assigned a room by the assignments program in July.
JULY 1
LAST DAY TO CANCEL FOR FALL 2016 AND RECEIVE A PARTIAL REFUND
Individuals (contracting for halls other than the Suites@201*) who have had a
change of plans can cancel their housing/food service contract up through
July 1, 2016 and still receive $100 of the $125 back (the remaining $25 serves as
a processing fee). Cancellations must be received from you and include your
name, student ID number, reason for canceling AND signature. The letter (or
email from your UWSP email account) must be postmarked on or before July 1.
Cancellations after this date forfeit the entire $125 prepayment.
*Individuals with contracts for the Suites@201 are unable to terminate their
contract unless they will not be a student at UWSP for fall 2016. See your
contract booklet for details.
