Chapter 1.
iSeries Editions
iSeries family systems are offered with flexible options packages, called Editions. Editions
provide IBM Clients with additional products and services that can help reduce complexity
and maximize the business value of their iSeries installation.
With IBM POWER5™ processor-based iSeries systems, you have the flexibility to run the
following on demand computing environments and more, all on a single, highly-integrated,
powerful system.

Extensive growth options, resource virtualization, and intuitive management tools enable
iSeries systems to provide the power and capacity to run core business applications. These
systems can also provide the freedom and scalability to add and consolidate a broad variety
of additional applications on the same system.
The Editions were created for clients who are coping with dynamic and unpredictable
business environments who needed to be able to respond immediately to rapidly changing
requirements. Clients want to take advantage of the IBM middleware, such as WebSphere
and Domino, but still have the ability to run core applications that require 5250 online
transaction processing (OLTP) Commercial Processing Workload (CPW).
Whether you are just getting started on the path to On Demand Business, intending to extend
your business capabilities, or looking to exploit emerging technologies across your enterprise,
an iSeries Edition is available to help simplify the tasks at hand. This Redpaper is designed to
help you understand which iSeries Editions are available and to help you determine which
one is best suited for your business needs.

that are required as they transform to an On Demand Business. This Edition includes
additional hardware and software content that is designed to meet the needs of most
model 520 clients.
򐂰 Standard Edition: This Edition is attractively priced for applications that do not require
5250 OLTP CPW. It is designed for clients who do not require the On Demand Business
capability available in the Enterprise Edition. The Standard Edition supports a wide variety
of business solutions, including 5250 OLTP applications that were enhanced using the
IBM WebFacing Tool, which is part of WebSphere Development Studio for iSeries.
򐂰 Enterprise Edition: This premium Edition offering is ideal for clients who have dynamic
business environments that require the maximum amount of flexibility and On Demand
Business capability. Compared to other Editions, the Enterprise Edition includes the
greatest amount of additional hardware, IBM middleware, education, and services
content.

IBM Eserver iSeries Editions Buying and Selling Guide
򐂰 Solution Edition: Available on Eserver i5 models 520 and 550, the Solution Edition is an
aggressively priced offering that is designed to complement a select group of iSeries
independent software vendor (ISV) solutions. This Edition helps you to take advantage of
the combined experience and expertise of IBM and ISVs in building business value with
your IT investments.
򐂰 Domino Edition: Only available on the Eserver i5 model 550, the Domino Edition is a
competitively-priced offering supporting Lotus collaborative applications. This Edition
provides excellent price and performance for clients who are running Lotus Domino, Lotus

priced significantly lower than the Standard Edition on the Eserver i5 model 550.
򐂰 High Availability Edition (HA): This Edition is designed for clients who require 24 x 7
availability. It enables clients to tie multiple iSeries systems together with high-function
third-party software using the High Availability Edition. Two High Availability (HA) offerings
are available: one for small-to-medium-sized enterprises and one for
medium-to-large-sized enterprises.
򐂰 Capacity BackUp Edition (CBU): Designed for clients who require an off-site disaster
recovery system, the Capacity BackUp Edition is available at a very affordable price. This
Edition includes everything that the Enterprise Edition provides, except that it is shipped
with a minimal set of software. IBM software licensing can allow the primary iSeries
system licensing to be transferred to a backup iSeries system in case the primary system
is not available.

pre-installed, thus allowing faster implementation for RAID-protected systems. The final two
are growth models with Mirroring and RAID options. Table 3-2 outlines the content that is
available in the four Express Edition configurations featuring Disk Protection for the Eserver

Chapter 4.
iSeries Standard Edition
The Standard Edition is attractively priced and designed for clients who require more capacity
and flexibility than is available in the iSeries Value Edition. The Standard Edition supports
5250 online transaction processing (OLTP) applications that were enhanced with the IBM
WebFacing Tool, which is available in WebSphere Development Studio for iSeries.
Clients who need to run 5250 OLTP applications in the traditional environment should not
select the iSeries Standard Edition. Instead, they should consider other Editions that provide
5250 OLTP Commercial Processing Workload (CPW) support.

4.7 Upgrades from Standard Edition to Enterprise Edition
Upgrades are available from the Standard Edition into the Enterprise Edition. This allows
growth into larger or newer hardware models. However, when upgrading from a Standard
Edition into the Enterprise Edition, the client does not receive additional hardware, software,
education, or services normally included with the new purchase of an Enterprise Edition. For
example, they do not receive an Integrated xSeries Server, a no-charge processor activation,
or education and services vouchers. This could be a critical consideration when a client is
debating between initially purchasing a Standard Edition or an Enterprise Edition.
4.8 Summary
The Standard Edition is attractively priced for applications that do not require 5250 OLTP
CPW. It is also designed for clients who do not require the same level of On Demand
Business capability available in the Enterprise Edition. The Standard Edition supports a wide
variety of business solutions, including 5250 OLTP applications that were enhanced using the
IBM WebFacing Tool, which is part of WebSphere Development Studio for iSeries.
An iSeries system with the Standard Edition can be tailored with additional software and
hardware to run additional application environments and operating systems such as Lotus
Domino, WebSphere, and Microsoft Windows (via Integrated xSeries Server or Integrated
xSeries Adapter).

Chapter 5.
iSeries Enterprise Edition
The Enterprise Edition is the IBM premier offering that is best suited for dynamic business
environments that need to respond quickly to fluctuating, unpredictable On Demand Business
needs. It is ideal for clients who require the maximum amount of flexibility and who value the
benefits of integrated middleware. There are several benefits of the Enterprise Edition,
including the ability to:
򐂰 Respond to new business opportunities with solutions flexibility
The Enterprise Edition includes integrated middleware, hardware, and in some cases, IBM
education and service vouchers, which can help clients respond quickly to new business
opportunities. Clients can quickly deploy new applications to respond to business
opportunities by leveraging the simplicity of an integrated solution. The e-business and
datacenter management tools included in this Edition also help clients respond quickly to
new On Demand Business opportunities.
򐂰 Integrate people, processes, and information to drive business unit productivity
Integration is at the core of the iSeries value proposition. The Enterprise Edition helps
clients quickly integrate people, processes and all types of information, resulting in
increased business unit productivity and improved customer satisfaction.
򐂰 Simplify middleware deployment to help reduce operations costs
The Enterprise Edition includes IBM middleware products that are tailored for iSeries
deployment scenarios. These scenarios include the coexistence of traditional and
Web-enabled applications, as well as the ability to quickly implement advanced e-business
and datacenter solutions. Operation costs can also be potentially reduced by leveraging
IBM middleware products that include iSeries-specific wizards that are designed to help
simplify the installation process.
򐂰 Deliver unparalleled application investment protection
The iSeries has a long tradition of protecting clients’ application investments, and the
Enterprise Edition helps to extend this protection into the future. The Enterprise Edition
provides clients with flexible On Demand Business capabilities including AIX, Linux, Lotus,
and WebSphere designed to coexist with, and take advantage of, existing iSeries
applications.

5.6 Summary
The Enterprise Edition is best suited for dynamic business environments where you need to
respond immediately to fluctuating, unpredictable On Demand Business needs. This Edition
delivers exceptional flexibility to adjust dynamically for changing business priorities with the
integrated i5/OS Workload Manager, Micro-Partitioning, and Capacity Upgrade on Demand.
Clients who need to run 5250 OLTP applications running in the traditional green-screen
environment need the Enterprise Edition.
The Enterprise Edition starts with the Standard Edition content and builds on it. It is shipped
with advanced tools for managing mixed application environments and virtual workplace
software. Compared to other Editions, the Enterprise Edition includes the greatest amount of
IBM hardware, middleware, education, and services content.
The Enterprise Edition is featured for a full range of enterprise-class applications as well as
5250 OLTP solutions based on integrated middleware such as DB2 UDB, WebSphere
Application Server - Express, and IBM HTTP Server (Powered by Apache). An iSeries system
with the Enterprise Edition can also be extended with additional software and hardware to run
additional solution environments such as Lotus Domino and Microsoft Windows.

iSeries Solution Edition
The iSeries Solution Edition is designed to help clients take advantage of the combined
experience and expertise of IBM and independent software vendors (ISVs) in building
business value with their IT investments. Through innovation and technology leadership,
iSeries systems help provide maximum flexibility in operating system and application choice
to help businesses grow as their needs evolve.
The Solution Edition is only available on IBM Eserver i5 models 520 and 550. This Edition
helps manage unpredictable and dynamic change in business demand through Capacity on
Demand and key IBM Virtualization Engine technologies such as Micro-Partitioning.
Micro-Partitioning helps a single processor act like multiple processors that can share
resources between them. This helps make server and application consolidation easier and
more manageable.
The Solution Edition is designed to be used with qualifying ISV solutions providing a more
attractively priced total solution.

Chapter 7.
iSeries Domino/Workplace
Edition
For organizations of all sizes, e-mail and electronic collaboration are increasingly becoming
important applications, with the same requirements for availability and security as
line-of-business applications. The new iSeries Domino/Workplace Edition continues the
tradition established by iSeries Dedicated Server for Domino (DSD) and iSeries for Domino. It
offers price and performance targeted for Lotus applications combined with the reliability,
manageability, and low cost of ownership that made iSeries a highly successful Domino
system.
Domino/Workplace Edition is available only on the IBM Eserver i5 model 550. This Edition
provides excellent price and performance for clients who are running Lotus Workplace, Lotus
Domino, Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing (Sametime), Lotus Team
Workplace (QuickPlace), Domino Web Access, and other Lotus solutions. In addition, 5250
online transaction processing (OLTP) applications that are refaced, using the IBM WebFacing
Tool of WebSphere Development Studio, can be run with no 5250 Commercial Processing
Workload (CPW) requirement.
Two processors are standard on the Domino/Workplace Edition, and there is the option to
activate one or two additional processors. Clients have room to grow with the
Domino/Workplace Edition on the Eserver i5 model 550 with built-in Capacity on Demand.
Optionally, clients can create Micro-Partitions and run Linux or AIX on these additional
processors.

7.4.3 Proof of licenses required for Domino/Workplace Edition
To be eligible to purchase a Domino/Workplace Edition system, you must purchase or already
own the appropriate number of licenses for the required Lotus software. The
Domino/Workplace Edition requires a proof of license for two Domino/Workplace Enterprise
servers, and a total of 1500 Lotus client licenses. These Lotus client licenses can be any mix
of Workplace, Notes, Domino Web Access, Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing
(Sametime), or Lotus Team Workplace (QuickPlace).
The Lotus client license requirement can be met with a combination of licenses for Notes
clients, Domino Web Access clients, Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing clients
(Sametime), and Lotus Team Workplace clients (QuickPlace). The 1500 licenses are the total
of client licenses and do not equate to 1500 users. For example, if one end-user has a client
license for Notes, Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing (Sametime), and Lotus Team
Workplace (QuickPlace), this equals three client licenses.
If you are using existing Lotus software for eligibility, the Lotus software must be covered
under a current Lotus maintenance contact. You need to provide IBM the Passport
Advantage® information that is relative to your Lotus software maintenance.
If you are acquiring new Lotus software and want to qualify to purchase an Eserver i5 550
Domino Edition, you need to provide IBM a copy of your purchase order for the Lotus software
you acquired.
For more information about the Domino Edition, consult the following Web site:

7.6 Summary
The iSeries Domino/Workplace Edition combines excellent price and performance targeted
for Lotus applications. This Edition offers the reliability, manageability, and low cost of
ownership that have made the iSeries family so successful as a Domino and Workplace
system.
The Domino/Workplace Edition gives you the ability to deploy e-mail for several hundred or
thousands of users on a single system footprint, with only one copy of the operating system
and one copy of Domino or Workplace to manage and maintain. And, when you are ready to
take the next step in collaboration, you can add other Lotus applications, still on the same
system footprint. With Eserver i5 550 and the Domino/Workplace Edition, you can focus on
delivering new applications and providing service to end users. Now, isn't it time to leave that
server farm behind?

8.5 Eligibility for High Availability Edition
To be eligible to buy an iSeries system for High Availability offering, you must meet the
following specific criteria:
򐂰 The system must be smaller or equal in size (CPW) to the primary system to which it will
be linked.
򐂰 The primary system must be a model 520, 570, 810, 820, 825, 830, 840, 870, or 890, and
it must have a 5250 OLTP CPW value greater than zero. The model 520 cannot be a
primary system for a model 570.
򐂰 The primary and secondary systems must use specific, qualifying high-function, high
availability software provided by qualifying independent software vendors (ISVs), such as
DataMirror, Lakeview Technology, or Vision Solutions, as specified on the iSeries for High
Availability Web site.
http://www.ibm.com/eserver/iseries/hardware/is4ha/
8.6 Upgrades from High Availability Edition to Enterprise Edition
The High Availability Edition is available only for new purchases. Upgrades are available from
the High Availability Edition into the Enterprise Edition. This upgrade allows growth into larger
or newer iSeries models.
When upgrading from a High Availability Edition into the Enterprise Edition, as with upgrades
from Standard Editions, the client does not receive additional hardware, software, education,
or services that are normally included with the new purchase of an Enterprise Edition. For
example, the client does not receive an Integrated xSeries Server, a no charge processor
activation, or education and service vouchers. This can be a critical consideration if a client is
debating between purchasing a High Availability Edition or an Enterprise Edition.
56
IBM Eserver iSeries Editions Buying and Selling Guide
High Availability to Enterprise Edition upgrades within the same model are available (for
example, 520 High Availability Edition to 520 Enterprise Edition or 570 High Availability
Edition to 570 Enterprise Edition) at no charge after the initial installation of the High
Availability Edition. However, you must be aware that to initially purchase the High Availability
machine, specific High Availability software is required (at a cost). Also, when upgrading from
a High Availability Edition to an Enterprise Edition, you do not receive the additional hardware
or software that normally comes with the initial purchase of an Enterprise Edition.
8.7 Summary
The High Availability Edition is ideal for clients who require 24 x 7 availability. This offering is
built on the legendary reliability of the iSeries system. It adds innovative on demand
capabilities to help clients improve their overall IT asset utilization, increase customer loyalty,
and protect against potential business opportunity losses.

iSeries Capacity BackUp Edition
This chapter summarizes the iSeries Capacity BackUp Edition. This edition is available for the
IBM Eserver i5 570. The iSeries for Capacity BackUp Edition can provide a client with an
off-site, disaster recovery machine at an affordable price.
A 2/16-way model 570 leverages On/Off Capacity on Demand capabilities into an effective
backup system. The 570 has:
򐂰 Two processors that can be permanently activated and used for any application
򐂰 Fourteen standby processors that can be used at no-charge in the event of a disaster
The Capacity BackUp Edition contains a minimal set of software content. This ways IBM
software licensing can allow the primary system’s licensing to be transferred to a backup
system in case the primary system is out of production.
Standby processors cannot be permanently activated. In addition to their no-charge disaster
usage, standby processors can be used on a chargeable basis for production role swapping
during an unscheduled outage, tape backup, failover testing, and for basic role swapping
during upgrades or program temporary fix (PTF) installations.
This iSeries for Capacity BackUp offering is not intended or priced as a backup system for
24 x 7 high availability solutions that require day-to-day full operation of the backup system.
High usage of standby processors for purposes other than a disaster may add significant cost
to an IT operation.

The Capacity BackUp Edition is one of the IBM business continuity offerings available for
Eserver i5 570. This offering builds on the legendary reliability of the iSeries. It adds
innovative on demand capabilities to help clients improve their overall IT asset utilization,
increase customer loyalty, and protect against potential business opportunity losses.
Disaster is defined as an event recoverable from an off-site location only that is the result of
the unforeseen loss of a production customer’s computing capability due solely to forces
beyond control. To qualify as a disaster, such outage must be estimated to last for more than
four hours and must not be caused by or related to hardware or software defects.
The Capacity BackUp Edition is intended for companies that require an off-site disaster
recovery machine at an extremely affordable price. Using iSeries On/Off Capacity on Demand
capabilities, the iSeries for Capacity BackUp offering has a minimum set of startup
processors that can be used for any application. This offering also has a large number of
standby processors that can be used at no-charge in the event of a disaster.

10.1 iSeries Value Proposition
The market is moving back over the core of the iSeries system value proposition as
companies of all sizes are looking to simplify their IT environment. The iSeries system is the
most complete and secure integrated business system that is designed to run thousands of
the world’s most popular business applications. It provides faster, more reliable, and highly
secure ways to help you simplify your IT environment. It does this by reducing the number of
servers and associated staff required to help you save money and reinvest in growing your
business.
For CEOs, CFOs, and CIOs who need to reduce their costs so that they can invest in growing
their business, the iSeries system provides the most completely integrated and secure
business system. The system helps you to reduce the number of people and servers
necessary to run your business applications. As a result, it helps you to simplify your IT
environment so you can save money and reinvest in growing your business.
Here are some differentiators that make the iSeries unique.
򐂰 The IBM Eserver i5, the newest member of the iSeries family, is the only system in the
world that allows you to run up to five different operating systems on a single system,
simultaneously. This enables it to run thousands of the world’s most popular business
applications to provide clients with greater flexibility.
򐂰 The iSeries integrated design combines the operating systems, middleware, database,
security and storage into one system that can be deployed more quickly, is less costly, and
is easy to manage.
򐂰 The iSeries system provides the highest availability and reliability of any midrange system.
򐂰 The iSeries system is secure and virus resistant by design. It can help you save money by
avoiding multiple security patches throughout the year as well as reduce concern about
company data security being compromised.
򐂰 The iSeries system helps manage unpredictable growth. It enables businesses to better
manage unexpected customer and market demands or new transaction volumes.
Note: Windows and Linux on Intel support require an Integrated xSeries Adapter or
Integrated xSeries Server adapter.
10.2 Components included in i5/OS V5R3
i5/OS V5R3 includes DB2 Universal Database (UDB), WebSphere Applications Server Express, and IBM Director Multiplatform. This section summarizes each of these
components.
64
IBM Eserver iSeries Editions Buying and Selling Guide
10.2.1 i5/OS V5R3 (5722-SS1)
One of the single, most dramatic points about the iSeries system is that the operating system,
i5/OS, is a single entity. After you purchase an iSeries system, you do not have to continue
shopping for system software components before the system is ready to run your business.
All of the software factors for a relational database, comprehensive security, communications
with a broad range of diverse systems, including Internet capabilities, and many more
components are already in the operating system. Each is fully integrated into i5/OS.
“Fully integrated” means fully tested too. All components and prerequisites for running
business applications work together and are fully tested together. i5/OS operates as a single
entity.
i5/OS V5R3 also includes DB2 UDB, WebSphere Application Server - Express, and IBM
Director Multiplatform. IBM i5/OS for V5R2 and earlier versions are called OS/400.
򐂰 Licensing for i5/OS (5722-SS1)
– This is orderable via the marketing configurator.
– The number of licenses depend on what iSeries system and Edition is ordered.
򐂰 iSeries Software Maintenance
10.2.2 DB2 Universal Database
DB2 UDB for iSeries is an advanced, 64-bit relational database management system
(RDBMS) that leverages the on demand features of the iSeries. A member of the IBM leading
edge family of DB2 products, DB2 UDB for iSeries supports a broad range of applications and
development environments at a lower cost of ownership due to its unique autonomic
computing (self-managing) features. DB2 UDB for iSeries offers state-of-the-art database
functions, open systems, and standards-based technology. It also provides the maturity,
stability, and ease of use that has become the trademark of the iSeries system.
򐂰 Benefits
DB2 UDB for iSeries is fully integrated into the i5/OS operating system software. It is not a
separate product. The fact that the database is integrated allows the operating system to
control some of its management functions. This also makes it easier to maintain than
competitive databases from other vendors, which reduces the need for a dedicated
database administrator. Its security functions are integrated into the operating system.
These functions allow a better security model than other databases where additional tools
may need to be purchased to provide these functions.

10.6 Summary
Today’s businesses are searching for ways to reduce internal costs so they can invest in
growth initiatives. CIOs, in particular, are reflecting on the increasingly complex IT
environments that are being created by the growing number of servers required to run even a
single application. They are searching for ways to reduce their number of servers, reduce the
number of people required to manage those servers, and reduce their maintenance and
licensing costs. Today, the number one priority is rapidly becoming to simplify IT
environments. iSeries systems are ideal for businesses that are seeking to simplify their IT
environment and, therefore, reduce costs to enable investment in business growth.
iSeries Editions are flexible options packages that help reduce complexity and maximize your
business value. Each iSeries Edition incorporates a set of software licensing and hardware
features designed to help meet the particular demands of a small, medium, or large
enterprise. As you can tell by the products described in this chapter, the iSeries Editions
include a wide variety of software that delivers exceptional value for small, medium, and large
enterprises.
