Schmeeckle Reserve Educator/Research Assistant Positions (2) These paid positions provide opportunities to gain practical experience leading nature-themed programs with mixed-age audiences. The positions are part of a graduate research project that is studying intergenerational experiences in outdoor education settings. Specific Duties: • Lead multiple natural-resource themed programs for multigenerational groups (children and their adult guardians) • Participate in program content trainings • Assist Schmeeckle graduate assistant with research activities • Keep program materials organized and clean Requirements: • Full-time UW-Stevens Point student • Good academic standing (GPA of 2.5 or higher) • Experience in the field of environmental education or interpretation • Passion for learning and teaching about the natural world • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including leadership qualities • Background check will be conducted (working with children) • Students with Work Study funding are encouraged to apply, but is not required for the position Preferred Experience: • Experience working with a variety of natural resources equipment (D-nets, field guides, microscopes, etc.) • Experience working with intergenerational audiences Commitment: • July to August of 2016, with some weekend work. All programs will be held at Schmeeckle Reserve.
