Master of Science in Contract Management (835) Commencing Tuesday 5 July 2016 By Distance Learning using a Web-based, Virtual Classroom Environment The Naval Postgraduate School and its School of Business and Public Policy are pleased to announce the offering of an eight quarter part-time Master of Science in Contract Management by distance learning commencing Tuesday 5 July 2016. Students that complete the degree program also attain DAWIA level III Training Equivalency for the CON Series as well as Level II training for Program Management. The program also meets DAWIA requirements for 24 hours of business subjects and 40 hours of annual continuous learning. Note: DAU course changes made after the establishment of this program for the 2016-2017 tracks will be reviewed and accommodated if and where feasible. The MSCM program is open to qualified DoD uniformed officers, federal employees and a limited number of Defense contractors. Students take two (2) courses a quarter for eight (8) consecutive quarters. The program will be delivered over the Internet using Collaborate, an Internet web-conferencing tool, on Tuesdays from 1200-1500 and Thursdays from 1200-1500 (Pacific Time). An additional hour on Thursdays from 1500 to 1600 may be required on occasion for administrative or other purposes. Students will be informed in advance when this is required. To use Collaborate students need Internet access, a PC microphone (microphone mandatory). There is no special software required for Collaborate. All Collaborate sessions are recorded. The price per seat is $2000 a course for military and federal government employees and $2200 for Defense contractor civilians (not including textbooks). Organizations and/or students are expected to purchase their own books. If requested, NPS can provide textbooks for a $200 fixed fee per course.
