"Producers are looking to maximize corn yields today more than previous years because of higher grain prices,'' said Roger Elmore, one of the Extension specialists. "Some of the management practices that were not economical at one tiime may now be, considering the new prices.'' Fungicide applications to field corn is one of those management tactics that needs to be re-examined, he said. Studies done in 2007 indicate that all applications offered an economic return, he said.
