Associated Press 09-17-07 Vilsack to work with ISU's biosafety institute DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Former Governor Tom Vilsack will work for Iowa State University's agricultural biosafety institute. Vilsack agreed to a 2-year deal with the institute, which analyzes the risks and benefits of genetically modified plant and animal products, among other tasks. Vilsack will help develop content for a new graduate course on science, policy and management, and will help teach the course. He will also serve on the institute's advisory council. Vilsack served as governor from 1999 to 2007. He also works as an attorney for the Dorsey & Whitney law firm, and is a visiting law professor at Drake University. Copyright 2007 The Associated Press.
