The Convention, held this year in Huntsville, Alabama, provides opportunities to collaborate with other PTK chapters, attend educational seminars, and celebrate chapter and individual achievements within the organization. The Alpha Epsilon Iota chapter was acknowledged for attaining Five-Star status. This achievement involves a year-long commitment to the hallmarks of PTK, completion of a College Project and an Honors in Action Project, taking a leadership role on the regional level, and planning and meeting chapter goals and objectives. The chapter was one of five to receive a “Distinguished Officer Team Award,” with recognition going to students Chloe Tilley, Dana Hurst, Walker Davis, Sam Hart, Drew Black, and Luke Seale. Additionally, Dr. Kevin L. Windham was one of two advisors to receive an “Advisor Paragon Award.” “We are able to grow and receive these awards because of the continued support of our College,” Windham said. Currently in its enrollment period, Shelton State’s PTK chapter is open to full-time or part-time students who have earned a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and have complete twelve credit hours in an associate’s degree program.
