Career Technical Dual Enrollment Partnership
Utilizing Career Technical Education Funding, Shelton State Community College is
able to provide up to 65 scholarships for students interested in culinary arts or
office administration. These courses will be provided online and will not require
students to travel to campus. Shelton State will also offer a $300.00 book
scholarship to support these students.
Current 11th and 12th graders interested in either culinary arts or office
administration will need to be identified by participating high schools and must meet
eligibility requirements listed below. Selected students will be allowed to complete 6
credit hours at no cost and will receive a $300.00 book credit.
Program Options Offered
A DUAL ENROLLMENT STUDENT is a student
enrolled at SSCC while still enrolled in high school.
Students will earn both high school and college credit.

Students enrolled in either program may also
elect to take an academic course concurrently
with one technical course.

(3 Credits)
For example, ENG 101 and CUA 111 could be
combined to meet the six hour scholarship
requirement.

Students are prepared to work as chefs, sous chefs,
and managers in restaurants, the hotel industry,
pastry and specialty shops, cruise lines and resorts,
bakery and candy companies, catering companies,

Apply for admission online at www.sheltonstate.edu.
Submit a government issued photo ID and Shelton State signature page.
Provide an official, current high school transcript.
Have overall 2.5 GPA.
Be enrolled in 11th, or 12th grade.
Submit the Dual Enrollment Credit Form with signed approval from principal/authorized designee.
Meet all pre-requisite requirements through testing (ACT or COMPASS).
Register for approved courses.
