Chapter 7: The Constitution
1. I can describe the government under the Articles of Confederation and the problems created by a
weak central government.
2. I can explain the proceedings of the Constitutional Convention, the specifics of the Virginia Plan, how
the Great Compromise satisfied both large and small states, identify the disputes/compromises over
slavery and discuss the drafting of the new constitution.
3. I can compare and contrast the positions of the Federalists and Antifederalists.
4. I can discuss the debate over ratification.
5. I can describe the Bill of Rights and how it protects the people.
