Description:
GoAnimate4Schools is an online animated video production software, in which students will draw at random a scenario and pre-made
GoAnimate4Schools template. As a team they will develop and record a dialogue to match the linguistic challenge of their selected scenario and the
visual cues of the animation. Time management and team skills will be crucial due to the tightly restricted creation time.

Each team will select a scenario out of a hat.
Teams will log into the GoAnimate4Schools account assigned to their scenario.
The team will view the pre-prepared GoAnimate4Schools scenario, which is centered around a theme and has been formatted without dialogue.
Each team should work efficiently to create and record a dialogue to match the selected the scenario and accompany the pre-prepared
GoAnimate4Schools shell.
Dialogues should emulate natural conversation and address each of the requirements of the scenario.
Team members will use the GoAnimate4Schools software to record and place their voices in the dialogue.
The team is permitted to make some alterations to the animation in order to make a better fit with their dialogue. However, students must be
conscientious of their time and use limited alterations so as to focus their attention on developing a functional and linguistically rich dialogue.
Each member of the team must play an active role in the development of the final product.
Hints for Success:
• Students should practice with structures that create natural or colloquial speech patterns such as interjections, variations in word order, idioms and
colloquial phrases.
• Students should listen to authentic dialogue about common, intermediate level topics.
• Students should practice with the GoAnimate4Schools environment, particularly with the full video creation mode.
• Challenge students to develop interesting and creative dialogues in class as teams. Emphasize natural, often off topic dialogue.
• Have students role play dialogues as improvisations and have them focus on reactions in equal importance to dialogue completion.
• Practice team-building and have students assess each others’ strengths and weaknesses so that they develop trust in each others’ strengths.
