Category of the programme New/On-going/Carried over New Visualization, animation, simulation etc. can provide enormous help in understanding, particularly those concepts which are difficult to comprehend or imagine. This will add value for both the student and the teacher by making the teaching process more interesting thereby improving both the teaching and learning processes. The student can grasp the knowledge faster and the teacher can convey the information with ease. In the 1st phase, a sample chapter from Biology for class XI will be taken up where we will develop a model for on line support to the curriculum. The present project will adopt this model for the entire Sr. Secondary curriculum in Biology. The outcome which will be in form of a linked set of web-based resource will be uploaded on the NCERT website. The subject matter at the web sections will be interactive and seek feed-back from the users. 4. Specific Objectives: • • To identify and map digital resources to supplement the textbook To develop an interactive forum for teachers and students to enrich the textbook The process involves identification of digital resources, mapping them with appropriate concepts and integrating these resources into an online repository.
