The number of LSS courses used to complete “free electives” under General Education University Distribution and College Distribution categories, and, 2. The number of SPT 350 Internship in Sport Management credits taken. Electives may be used in four different ways within the L.S.S. major: 1. To complete a Specialization in LSS (C/AA or HP/FA.): A Certificate will be awarded to students who complete all courses within a Specialization. Students can list this accomplishment on their resumes and include certificates in materials they present to potential employers. a. The Coaching/Athletic Administration Specialization is accredited by N.C.A.C.E., a national accrediting body. A certificate will be awarded by the Department stating this. In addition, two certificates can be earned in SPT 222 from A.S.E.P., a national coaching program. b. The Health Promotion/Fitness Administration Specialization is currently not accredited. A certificate will be awarded by the Department. 2. To complete a minor from outside of the department. 3. To absorb “transfer” or “change of major” credits that don’t fit into the LSS curriculum or general education categories. 4. To complete any course carrying university credit.
