Undergraduate Unit Data Program Assessment Praxis II Grades Portfolio Assessment Data Analysis Recommendations There is a 94% pass rate for those students took the English Language Lit Comp Content Knowledge (0041) exam. All students must receive a “C” grade or higher in all of the courses required for the program of study. These are the courses that align with the NCATE/CAEP standards. Based on the scores received by the English candidates, all Purposefully share this information with the English Department, offer TestTaking Workshops/tutoring and continue our collaborative efforts. Continue to require students to earn a “C” grade or higher in all courses in the program of study that align with the NCTE/CAEP standards. Continue the collaboration between SEDU 484: Instructional Techniques for Implementation Date Fall 2012 Continue Spring 2013 Modifications Spring 2014 Fall 2012 Continue Spring 2013 Spring 2014 Fall 2012 Modifications Spring 2013 candidates have met the NCTE standards and are proficient in their field. PDE 430 Instructional Techniques Unit Plan The Spring 2013 data shows that out of 13 English candidates 77% scored “exemplary” or “superior” in the area of Planning and Preparation and 15.4% scored “satisfactory” and 7.7% scored “unsatisfactory”. The remaining areas are as follows: Classroom Environment= 84.6%, 7.7% and 7.7%. Instructional Delivery= 84.7%, 0% and 15.4%. Professionalism= 61.5%, 23.1% and 15.4%. There were a total of 9 students who completed the English Unit Plan in Spring 2014. All 9 students scored “Target” or “Acceptable” on all of the NCTE Standards assessed using this tool, except one student who scored “developing” on the first set of standards. Teaching English and SPED 370: Adapt. & Accom. Inclusive Clsrm. During the students’ “Block” classes. This appears to have made a difference b/c all 6 English candidates earned a ‘Target’ on their Portfolio. This must be brought to the attention of the instructors of SEDU 465: Instructional Techniques for the Teaching of English so that all of these areas are thoroughly addressed and continue using the PDE 430 form and have all instructors assess consistently. Spring 2014 Continue teaching unit planning, analyzing the results, and modify teaching practices based on the data. Model aligning assessments with lesson objectives for the teacher candidates and provide practice before assigning the Unit Plan.
