List the 6 to 8 assessments for each program in the box provided for Program Assessments. Examine the data collection for each program. Be sure to review both the fall and spring data collection. Answer the following questions for each program assessment placing the information in the appropriate column: o What does the data indicate for your program? o What areas of concern if any do you have regarding this assessment? o What recommendations do you have regarding any revisions for this assessment? o What program changes if any does this data suggest? 3. Undergraduate Unit Data Program Assessment Praxis II Grades Portfolio Assessment Data Analysis Recommendations Implementation Date Spring 2013 There is a 100% pass rate for those students who completed the program. All of them scoring at/above the national average. Purposefully share this information with the English Department and continue our collaborative efforts. All students must receive a “C” grade or higher in all of the courses required for the program of study. It is these courses that align with the NCTE standards. Continue to require students to earn a “C” grade or higher in all courses in the program of study that align with the NCTE standards. Fall 2012 Continue Spring 2013 Based on the scores received by the English candidates, all candidates have met the NCTE standards and are proficient in their field. Although all candidates met NCTE standards with a proficient score there was a trend of lower scores in the area of Fall 2012 Modifications Spring 2013 PDE 430 Instructional Techniques Unit Plan Most of the 21 teacher candidates scored 2s and 3s on a 3 point scale. Only two students scored 1’s. There did not appear to be any correlation between low scores and a particular area of assessment (planning & preparation, classroom environment, instructional delivery, and professionalism), rather if a student scored low in one area he/she also scored low in other areas. The average score for the lesson plans within the Unit Plan was 47.58/50. Not one student received an overall grade below an ‘A’. The section of planning that appeared to be the most challenging for the students was aligning the assessments with the objectives. Learning Differences. Based on this finding there will be more collaboration between SEDU 484: Instructional Techniques for Teaching English and SPED 370: Adapt. & Accom. Inclusive Clsrm. During the students’ “Block” classes. Continue using the PDE 430 form and to have all instructors assess consistently. Continue teaching unit planning, analyzing the results, and modify teaching practices based on the data.
