Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence
Program (Council for
International Exchange of
Scholars)
The Fulbright Scholar-in Residence (SIR)
program is designed to bring a foreign scholar to
a U.S. college or university for one semester or
one year. In addition to teaching courses,
scholars give campus-wide and community
lectures. Numerous community colleges have
participated in the SIR program.
Preference is given to proposals in the
humanities or social sciences, but other fields
focusing on international issues will be
considered. Institutions may suggest suitable
candidates or have the Council for International
Exchange of Scholars (CIES) scholars from a
particular country.
