Life Experience Portfolio Process
ELIGIBILITY
Be enrolled in a degree program.
Have the knowledge, skills, and experience gained in pursuits outside a university or
college setting that matches a course or courses offered at Edinboro University.

INVESTIGATE
Obtain application and guidelines from the Office of Adult Student Services
website (www.edinboro.edu, keyword “life experience”).
Discuss your experience with the appropriate academic department to determine
portfolio requirements and obtain a course syllabus from the department.
↓
PORTFOLIO PROCESS
Prepare portfolio(s) according to guidelines.
Submit portfolio(s) and completed application to the Office of Adult Student
Services.
The Office of Adult Student Services submits portfolio(s) to the proper
department(s) for review, and tracks its progress.
↓
AWARDING OF CREDIT
The Office of Adult Student Services receives recommendation
from the department and dean.
The Office of Adult Student Services notifies you of credit
recommendation.
If credits are awarded, transcript posting fees are posted to your
student account.
Pick up your portfolio, if you wish, or leave it in the Office to serve
as a model for other life experience candidates.
Awarded credits are posted to your transcript.
