This symposium is designed to provide gastroenterologists,
primary care physicians, NPs, PAs, and nurses who are
involved in the management of liver patients, with the most
recent information currently available, especially covering in
depth the 2015 Annual Meeting of the American Association
for the Study of Liver Diseases: The Liver Meeting, held
November 13-17, 2015, in San Francisco.

After attending this program, the participant will be able to:
• Recognize chronic viral hepatitis (A,B, C and E) with
the updated management from the recent national
liver meetings.
• Discuss 2015 guidelines for the diagnosis and
management of chronic hepatitis C virus infection.
• Explain new information on management of the
most common complications of cirrhosis (ascites,
encephalopathy, bleeding, liver cancer) from the 2015
meeting of the American Association for the Study of
Liver Disease (AASLD).
• Manage and plan the treatment of liver failure with
liver transplantation according to the most recent
information presented at the national liver conference.
• Examine the updated diagnosis, evaluation and
management of the most common autoimmune liver
disorders (primary biliary cirrhosis, primary sclerosing
cholangitis, autoimmune hepatitis) presented at the
recent annual meeting of the AASLD.

Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership
of Drexel University College of Medicine and Hahnemann University Hospital. The
