New* grants and contracts were funded in this fiscal year by the following sources: • Get Banked Now • Missouri Department of Economic Development, Division of Workforce Development (DWD) • Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) • Productive Living Board • St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE) • St. Louis County Department of Human Services (DHS) • St. Patrick Center • U.S. Department of Education • U.S. Department of Labor • Youth for Understanding-USA *additional funders support projects continuing from previous awards i Office of Institutional Development The Office of Institutional Development (OID) is here to assist St. Louis Community College faculty and staff in gaining external funding through grant awards. This funding is focused directly on projects and programs that impact teaching, and benefit the strategic success of our students. Grants provide student support services, assistance for college student career pathways for certification and degree programs, professional development for STLCC faculty and staff, support for career training for regional K-12 teachers, and instructional equipment and software. This funding directly aids our students as they transition to four-year higher education, begin new professions, or achieve the necessary training for career success. OID seeks out grant opportunities that support faculty projects and the college’s strategic priorities. Our grant writers assist in creating and critiquing pre-submission documents, grant proposals, and proposal budgets. OID will also conduct funding searches for faculty and staff members who have identified the need for a new project, but have not yet established avenues of financial support. The office will assess eligibility, provide guidance through the required time constraints, create letters of intent to potential funders, gather statistical and scholarly research in support of projects, and coordinate an internal grantsapproval process before and after a grant is awarded. Through Federal, State, and Local government awards, as well as funds from public associations and national foundations, external funding through grants and negotiated contracts, assists in curriculum development, enhanced student access to post-secondary education, and support for student goals. The Office of Institutional Development is pleased to serve the students of St. Louis Community College as they gain in knowledge and academic achievement, and prepare for the future.
