What is North County CARES?
North County CARES is an award-winning
initiative that promotes and supports service
providers and employers by coordinating
resources, identifying funding and offering
educational opportunities for individual and
community growth. North County CARES works
with community leaders to enhance the quality
of life for individuals and families and is tailored
specifically for the North St. Louis County
community. The initiative focuses primarily on
three areas:
•Professional development and support for
employers and service providers who serve
and hire low-skilled, low-wage workers.
•Technical assistance to faith-based and
community organizations.
•Outreach and support to North St. Louis
County school districts to create a link to the
Florissant Valley campus.
Summit Purpose
North County CARES will address key components of its strategic planning goals by hosting
Summit X: Making a Difference Through
Collaboration and Information Sharing. The
specific strategic goal to be addressed is
“Offer education and training opportunities that
promote individual and community growth.”
Summit Goals
•Provide professional and personal development
to community and faith-based organizations,
employers, social service agencies and
governmental entities that serve and hire
low-income individuals.
•Provide a mechanism for collaboration and
information sharing.
