1. Announcements
Introduction of New Member: Lynn Kutch from Modern Language Studies serving at
large filling a seat vacated by David Arndt.
Mahfuzul Khondaker has been elected to serve at large filling the seat vacated by Paul
Sable.
Randy Schaeffer has been reelected to serve at large.
Andrea Harmer will no longer be a committee member beginning in the Fall 2013.
Paul Sable will no longer be a committee member beginning in the Fall 2013.
There are two openings on the committee: COE Rep and LAS Rep.
2. Approval of minutes from February 1 and 11, 2013
It was moved by Grapsy and seconded by Khondaker to approve the meeting minutes
from February 1 and February 11, 2013. Motion passed.

b. Update on Transfer Courses and Competencies
Meeting with RACC about course transfer brought need to have a transfer policy for
General Education Competencies.
As part of Kutztown University’s agreement with local community colleges students with
an Associate’s degree should only need 60 more credits to graduate.
Students are finding it easier to transfer to Millersville, West Chester, etc.

Two options to evaluate competency transfer are: department chairs evaluate the course
for their departments or the General Education Committee evaluates the courses to be
transferred.

The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, September 6, 2013 in MSU 322.
