Students visited the Reading Terminal Market for lunch. Many students enjoyed the exhibit at the Constitution Center called American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition. The trip was part of an ongoing series of events sponsored by the KU History Club. On October 29th, a local community audience viewed The Return of Martin Guerre. The 1982 film starring Gerard Depardieu was based upon the real sixteenth-century court case in France that involved a man’s stolen identity. According to New York Times reviewer Vincent Canby, the film “leaves room in which to speculate on the nature of life in the 16th-century [village of] Artigat, on its institutions—especially the church—on family ties, on the sanctity of marriage, property, and money.” Get the Latest News on the Department Website http://www.kutztown.edu/acad/history/ History Michael D.
