Title: Modular design of a seismic buoy in deep sea waters
Project Brief:
The Outcome of the project is to design a compact cylindrical unit out of water with the following
components: a cylindrical surface buoy, an elastomer, an intermediate undersea cylindrical
buoy, an steel cable and the anchor. The focus is to design a modular unit easy to carry out by
a person or few persons out of water, easy to carry out with a small boat and easy to deploy at
sea. In parallel, the mechanical design of the deployment of the coiled cables inside the unit
cylinder must be done too.
The project has the next different parts:
- Design of the modular unit: Geometry, materials and normative.
- Mechanical design of the coiled cables inside the modular unit and deployment.
- Economical study and market possibilities of the modular unit.
