Below is a checklist for Enrollment. Apply Online at www.mybrcc.edu and pay the non-refundable $10.00 application fee within the application or in person at the BRCC Bursars Office located in the Bienvenue Student Center. Submit Official High School transcript or HISET/GED scores for all those with less than 12 college level credit hours. BRCC will electronically request transcripts for graduates of Louisiana (LA) high schools from May 2004 to the present and HISET exam taken in LA from January 2014 to the present. If a LA high school transcript or HISET exam score is not received by 30 days after you are admitted, you must submit an official transcript. If you are a graduate from a LA high school prior to May 2004 or if you are a non-LA high school graduate, homeschooled, International student or a GED recipient, you need to submit an official transcript to the BRCC Admissions Office. Submit Official college transcript from all colleges/universities attended to the Office of Admissions. Transcripts must be submitted in the following ways: In a sealed envelope from the college/university e-Script Mailed from the college Submit Proof of Immunization Compliance to the Office of Admissions. (MMR, Tetanus, and Meningitis) Submit Proof of Selective Service to the Office of Admissions (Males 18-25 only). BRCC will electronically request your selective service registration number. If this information is not received by 30 days it can be retrieved by going to www.sss.gov and should be turned in to the BRCC Admissions Office. Submit ACT/SAT/COMPASS Placement Scores or take the COMPASS at BRCC (The following are accepted and all must be within the last 3 years). Transfer students who did not receive a C or better in a college level English or Math course must submit test scores to the BRCC Testing Center. The Testing Center is located on the 1st floor of the Magnolia Library on the Mid City Campus. The testing center may be contacted by emailing testingcenter@mybrcc.edu or calling 225.216.8038. Initial testing is included in application fee. You may register for the COMPASS at www.mybrcc.edu. Register for Classes. Academic advising, questions regarding course prerequisites and registration assistance is available in the Advising Office located in the Magnolia Library on the Mid-City Campus. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov Pay Tuition and Fees or Make a Payment Arrangement. You are responsible for dropping your courses if you decide not to attend. Please contact our Bursars office at info@mybrcc.edu if you have any questions or concerns regarding payments, financial holds on your account, billing or account balances. Check your LoLA account and email daily. Please note that students that are not meeting Satisfactory Progress (SAP), student types are Non – Matriculating, Visiting, International, Dual Enrollment/High School and students with a major of Non- Degree are not financial aid eligible. If your admissions checklist is incomplete you are not eligible for financial aid. *Once documents have been submitted to Baton Rouge Community College they cannot be returned. What is LoLA? Log on Louisiana (LoLA) is our student information portal. It is a powerful and new online tool that will allow you to completely manage your college activities. LoLA will be your 24/7, one stop resource. You will use LoLA to do the following: Review your Admissions Record, Register for classes, Review your class schedule, Make Payment Arrangements, Check on important upcoming dates, Update your address, Catch up on campus news and announcements, Check Grades and Monitor your financial aid process. How do I see what documents I am missing in Admissions? 1. Log into LoLA at www.mybrcc.edu 2. Select the Baton Rouge Community College Link in the Self-Service Section. 3. Select the Student tab. 4. Select the Admission option. 5. Choose the term of application in the Processed Application section. 6. Required documents will be listed at the end of your application summary. Submit documents to the Admissions Office. How do I Register for Classes? 1. Log into LOLA at www.mybrcc.edu 2. Click on the Baton Rouge Community College link in the Self Service window. 3. Select the Student Home tab. 4. Select Registration Status, then Submit. 5. Select Add or Drop Classes and then Submit. 6. Click Class Search and then Look Up Classes. 7. Select a semester and click Submit. 8. To search for a class, select at least one subject, click Class Search. When your selections are complete. Click the selection box in the first column beside the classes you want to take. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and click Register. How do I apply for Financial Aid at BRCC? To apply for financial aid at BRCC you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You should first register for a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov 1. Read the welcome page. 2. Select Apply Now for PIN (Parents of dependent students should also apply for a PIN). 3. Enter the requested personal information and select Next. 4. Verify the address information for accuracy, then select Yes. 5. Select Submit Application. 6. Print Confirmation page for your records. Now it is time to complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. To complete the FAFSA: 1. Have your Federal Tax return available. 2. Complete the entire application (Please note nothing should be left blank, enter ‘0’ if not applicable). 3. Sign your application electronically with your PIN. 5. Submit the application after all data has been entered and reviewed for accuracy. 6. Once your FAFSA has been processed, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). How do I check the status of my Financial Aid? 1. Log into LoLA www.mybrcc.edu. 2. Select the Financial Aid tab at the top of the page. 3. Select the Financial Aid Status option. 4. Select the Aid Year option, choose aid year and submit. 5. Choose the Award option. If you have been awarded Financial Aid it will display here along with the amount. How do I change my Major? 1. Complete a Change of Program Form located at the Bienvenue Student Center. 2. Submit the completed form to Enrollment Services.
