Thank you for your interest in
our Truck Driving Program. Our six
week program allows students to
accumulate 16 hours of college credit in
preparation for the Commercial Driving
License (CDL) examination for
operation vehicles in interstate
commerce. We are located in Ft. Scott,
KS. We are authorized licensing
examiners for the state of KS, and
administer the driving portion of the
CDL exam at the school. We are
accredited through the National
Association of Publicly Funded Truck
Driving Schools.
During the six week period,
students accumulate 240 hours of
classroom and driving time. Emphasis is
on federal motor carrier regulations,
driver’s daily log, mileage and defensive
driving. We can prepare you for the
written exam or you may take the
written exam prior to attending the
program. Students spend 151 hours in
the driving segment of the training. This
time includes the driving range and
backing range.
At the end of the course,
individuals who successfully complete
the course will be presented a school
certificate of completion.

HOW TO OBTAIN MONEY FOR TRUCKING SCHOOL
Unemployed or low income: If you were laid off from your job, or you work for minimum
wage, you may be eligible for funding through your state employment office. In KS ask for
the KansasWorks/WIA (Workforce In Action) representative. In some cases you can collect
your unemployment while attending the program. In the Kansas City, MO area check with
Full Employment Council (FEC). In other parts of MO check with nearest MO Career Center.
Dislocated Worker: If your job has moved and you can no longer work there, you may be
eligible for funding under the Dislocated Workers Program. Check with the nearest state
employment office.
Disability: If you have a disability that doesn’t impede your driving skills and you are able to
work, ask your counselor about funding your trucking education.
Veterans: If you are a veteran you may be eligible under the G.I. Bill. Check with a VA
counselor for funding. We are approved for funding through the VA. If you are the son or
daughter of a retired veteran you may be eligible for funding as well.
Disabled Veterans and their dependents: Disabled veterans and their sons or daughters

representatives to see if you are eligible for funding.
Church Groups: If you are a member of a church, check with them to see if they have a
program to fund education or job training.

the trucking company send the reimbursement directly to them.

remainder at the start of the third week of a 6 week program. If you are in a 12 week
