Faculty Position: Aerospace Engineering
The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Oklahoma State University is pleased to
invite applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank or
higher. Exceptional candidates in aerospace engineering are encouraged to apply and applicants
should have teaching and research interests in an area of aerospace engineering. Successful
candidates must have demonstrated potential for developing a strong externally funded research
program and for excellent teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. An earned Ph.D. in
a field closely aligned to mechanical or aerospace engineering is required, and an earned B.S.
degree in aerospace engineering from an ABET accredited or equivalent program is preferred.
Research or industry experience beyond doctoral studies is desirable. The research areas of the
successful applicant must be in a rapidly developing area in which there are strong possibilities
for competitive extramural funding. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Oklahoma State University was established in 1890 as a comprehensive land grant university.
Today with over 24,000 students on its main campus the university has a strong national presence
and is one of the leading interdisciplinary programs in unmanned aircraft systems with strong
industry and government ties. The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is the
largest engineering program in the college and one of the largest departments in the university
with more than 1300 undergraduates and 130 graduate students. The new faculty in MAE are part
of a college-wide initiative to add 50 faculty over the next 5 years.
