On May 12, the following abbreviated timeline was presented to the Office of the President which
outlines six benchmarks for completion before the Response Report is submitted:
May 12- OPA to vet IE responses for all non‐academic units. Completed by May 25.-COMPLETE
June 15- Deadline for all academic units to complete their IE revisions.-COMPLETE
June 16 - July 3‐ Review all data for consistency and completeness. Secure revisions where needed.COMPLETE
July 3 - July 13‐ Administrative review of vetted responses. COMPLETE
July 14‐ Send to technical editor. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CS 3.3.1.1, ALL RESPONSES HAVE BEEN
SENT TO DR. GERRY DIZINNO
August 14‐ Report finalized and given to Catherine Parsoneault for inclusion in the overall report.
Currently, OPA’s efforts are concentrated on the fourth item:
The following activities have occurred this week to strengthen documentation for the Response Report:
• Reviewed all degree program accounts for assessment revision process completeness. 65% of
programs are “Complete” 28% of programs are “Partially Complete” and 7% are “Not-Complete”
• Wrote 4 new program improvement examples for 3.3.1.1,
• Updated the original 8 program examples for 3.3.1.1.
• Placed all documentation, outside of TracDat Reports, for 3.3.1.1 in OPA’s internal share drive.
• Inputting data continues for graduate Engineering programs (in TracDat). This process is
expected to continue full-time for another two weeks.
• Revised outcomes for administrative support service units and academic and student support
service units, at the request of Dr. Dizinno. Awaiting approval from directors.
• Prepared a complete first draft of CS 3.3.1.1; submitted this draft to Dr. James for initial review.
• Prepared a QEP template for Dr. Kathy Gillis to use for the QEP response.
• Completed a revised QEP Assessment Plan and revised QEP student learning outcomes to
Professor Gary Smith for his review. The revised QEP Assessment Plan was submitted to Dr.
Dizinno for feedback.
In addition to ongoing efforts directly related to the Response Report, the Office of Planning and
Assessment continues to work on existing assessment activities that impact Texas Tech University’s
reaffirmation and institutional effectiveness efforts:

Sent HB 2504 reminders to all TTU departments. This entails compiling lists of non-compliant
instructors of record, composing emails and responding to Chair’s/IOR’s questions.
Continued facilitating the work request containing exchange information for the replacement
server for TTU’s DigitalMeasures file storage system.

Met with Audra Morse, Engineering, to improve the Engineering Annual Faculty
Reporting. Submitted work requests to change/update DM screens and report.
The Administrator position is now open on the TTU jobs website, and applications have been
submitted. Applicants will be reviewed August 1.
As the West Texas Assessment Conference approaches, OPA has reviewed all conference
proposals, and has sent acceptance letters to accepted presenters.
The WTAC website was updated this week to reflect newly provided information.
OPA is developing an Institutional Effectiveness Handbook that will be used to assist faculty,
staff, and administrators with requirements and expectations related to reporting and
assessment. OPA staff are working on drafts for each chapter. The handbook should be
complete by the beginning of the fall semester.
OPA held consultations with Dr. Ron Chesser, incoming Biology Chair, and Dr. Kevin Stoker,
Associate Dean, MCOM. OPA is developing a New Chair Packet to provide information on
services that OPA provides to faculty and administrators. In addition, OPA staff will provide
assessment consultation to the College of Media and Communication as it works to establish
college-level learning competencies.
