In ATMO 1300:
On the basis of pre- and post-course assessments:
1. In a few sections of ATMO 1300 more material has been made available to the students online in the
form of Powerpoint files
2. Developed in-class worksheets on various topics that allow students to apply concepts
from the lecture material (Fall 2010)
3. Added more non-graded quizzes on material from selected topics. Answers with
explanations were posted on the class web site so students could study at their own pace.
(Fall 2011)
4. Incorporated some additional YouTube ‘videos’ on appropriate topics such as solar angle,
seasons, and cold fronts. (Fall 2010 with new videos in Fall 2012 and Spring 2013)
5. Made modifications to the lecture presentation on Solar Radiation and Seasons to
improve clarity. (Fall 2011)
