John Tsiofas is the Chief Operating Officer at Cassels Brock and is responsible for overseeing all operational
and administrative areas of the firm. He brings to the firm over 20 years of experience working specifically
within the legal industry.
Prior to joining Cassels Brock, John served as a senior management consultant and Interim CEO for Kraft
Kennedy, a top legal industry consulting company based in New York City. As a consultant, he provided a
wide array of management and technology consulting services to numerous AMLAW 100 law firms as well as
major corporations across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
Prior to joining Kraft Kennedy, John served as Chief Operating Officer for another top Canadian law firm where
he built and managed a team that oversaw all aspects of the firm’s day-to-day operations. Prior to serving as
COO, John was the Director of Information Systems for the same firm where he successfully oversaw
numerous infrastructure, technology and business tool implementations.
John also spent a number of years working for one of the legal industry’s top software vendors where he held
a variety of positions including Manager of Product Development, Chair of the Product Strategy Committee and
Vice President.
He is an avid speaker and has presented many times on issues relating to technology and operational
management to organizations such as the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA), Legaltech,
American Corporate Counsel Association, and the Toronto Law Office Managers Association (TLOMA). John
studied Computer Science and Economics at the University of Toronto. He is a past member of the Board of
Directors and the Audit Committee of the National Ballet of Canada and he is an instrument rated, private
pilot.
