Tips for Recruiting New ISPE Members
Recruiting a new member is easy! Start with those close to you and expand to your larger
network. Simply share with them the benefits of ISPE membership and how your involvement in
ISPE has helped you professionally and personally.
Your prospects can go to www.ISPE.org/Join to join! Just remind your new members to add
your name and Member ID in the "Referring member” line on the application for recruitment
recognition and credit.
Ways to Recruit New ISPE Members
1. Personal Contact:
Most ISPE Members are referred by current Members. Hard sells are not required. If you
realize that pharma professional is (or should be) interested in or could benefit from ISPE’s
membership benefits, send the sample recruitment letter/email below. A follow-up by
personal phone call may be just the encouragement they need to join.
2. Affiliate/Chapter Events:
Invite non-Members to your local Affiliate/Chapter events at no cost. This is a great way to
let them experience ISPE on a local level and begin building their professional network of
contacts. Be sure to talk to non-Member attendees about how ISPE has benefitted your
career Individuals who attend events are much more likely to join and to remain members.
3. Local Prospects:
Get a list of all industry professionals and owner facility contacts in your Chapter’s
geographical area. Send the contacts the sample letter/email below and an ISPE
membership brochure. Then, follow up with a phone call.
4. Engage Other ISPE Members:
At Affiliate/Chapter meetings, ask each Member identify one prospective new member for
your Chapter. Be sure to get the prospective members’ company names, address, email
and phone number. Pass along this information to ISPE at ask@ISPE.org to add to the
prospect database.

Non-members who attend Affiliate/Chapter meetings

Here’s where you can find prospective Members:
1. Lists of pharma professionals from industry meetings/conferences: Send a roster of
pharma professional attendees (with names and contact information) from conferences you
attend to ask@ISPE.org. We will screen the list and let you know who is not yet a member.
2. Non-member attendees at ISPE Affiliate/Chapter events: Send us a roster of attendees
from your local Affiliate/Chapter events at ask@ISPE.org. We will screen the list and let you
know who is not yet a member.
3. Colleagues in your company: Send us a roster of your company’s employees who should
be ISPE members. We will screen the list and let you know who is not yet a member. Send
the list to ask@ISPE.org.
4. Pharma professionals that you know: Go through your personal list of contacts. Do you
have pharma industry professionals who might be interested in ISPE? If you want to check
their membership status, either send the names to ask@ISPE.org or you can search for
them in the ISPE Member Directory.

I hope my note finds you well. I wanted to send a personal invitation to join ISPE.
You may have heard about my involvement with ISPE. ISPE is the world’s largest
membership organization for 20,000 professionals like you who are working to ensure
scientific, technical and regulatory advancement throughout the pharmaceutical lifecycle.
I have seen first-hand how ISPE benefits pharma professionals and their companies. And, as
a member for [insert number of years here] years, it’s been the best place to turn for
___________________________________.
Knowing your professional background and interests, I recommend that you get involved and
gain the benefits of ISPE membership. I believe you will enjoy ISPE’s resources that help you
enhance your knowledge, expertise and career.
