WATER POLO
Catalog Description:
PHEA 3WP – Water Polo
2 units
The course is designed to provide the students possessing an exceptional degree of athletic ability the
opportunity to develop in advanced skills of water polo, a high level of physical fitness, a body of
knowledge related to the sport, and conditioning necessary for participation. Competition allows the
student to represent the college and to join with others in a common enterprise. Aspects of leadership, team
play, sportsmanship, and other social values are concomitant objectives. Daily practice. 12 hours weekly.

Evaluation and post-season activities.
Methods of Presentation:
Daily practice is conducted in order to permit students to reach a high degree of efficiency and
conditioning. In addition, team meeting are held, as necessary, in order to assure a knowledge of strategy,
rules, and the economy of team effort.
Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
The instructor evaluates each student and assigns a final grade against the following factors: physical
condition with which the student commences the season; effort used to improve his skill and physical
condition; the improvement in skills and condition; his contribution as a tem member; his conduct as a
representative of the College; and attendance.

Appropriate physical education attire.
