Services in promoting, developing, innovating, and sustaining campus
"community?" Students already "get it."

incorporate the educational experience into the life of the college? If the focus is
the classroom, is there a relevance beyond when many faculty don't appear to
be engaged beyond its confines?

I think the organizers, Karen Silva and others, should be commended for a job
well done. It would be nice if our culture of showing up late, refusing to move
inside when asked, talking when others are presenting, and complaining about
the quality of food that they are lucky to even get could be changed to one of
gratitude and respect for everyone.
Feb 29, 2012 12:25 PM
2
I thought the lunch choices were quite good, lots of nutritional options. I wish we
could "manage" the year awards differently. It seems to take forever. Maybe I
am weird, but I simply don't care as much about longevity. However, I do care
that there is no award given for classified staff excellence when faculty are being
recognized. I believe that there is such an award, why couldn't it be "given" at
the same luncheon?
Feb 28, 2012 3:49 PM
3
I saw the food, it looked and smelled good and so I ate it. Since it did not cause
any ills I have to say it was of good quality. Any questions?
Feb 27, 2012 10:47 PM
4
Thank you for all your efforts. It was a good day.
Feb 27, 2012 5:42 PM
5
Save money! Don't provide food. Awards ceremony is too long. Reward service
with opportunities for professional development.
Feb 27, 2012 5:41 PM
6
Should start with the 35 yr veterans and work down - say more on the people
who were here the longest and limit how much can be said for any single person
-- it is too long and people leave before the awards that should mean the most
are given - have a general format of information given on each recipient so it
does not vary depending on how well the particular dean knows an individual
Feb 16, 2012 4:04 PM
7
Create bios that actually note the major accomplishments of faculty/staff that
have been here for many (5-35) years. Do not misspell names on
plaques/certificates.

I thought all activities and food choices were outsatnding...
Feb 16, 2012 9:54 AM
9
Appreciate the awards luncheon-please shorten.
Feb 16, 2012 8:32 AM
10
The awards ceremony was quite long with the many bios that were read. I
appreciate the teaching award very much. I'm wondering if it might be worth
considering giving students (not just administrators) the opportunity to participate
in this process.
Feb 15, 2012 10:45 PM

I did attend, but I had already had breakfast at home, so only had lunch, and it
was wonderfully made! Would prefer to see whole grain choices always, such as
brown rice and whole wheat pasta. I liked that we have things other than sodas!
Also, would like to see that we are starting to use compostable
forks/knives/plates. Since we are an educational institution, we have to teach by
example.
