Many other departments help the city run smoothly including the city attorney’s office, the police department, building and zoning, the city clerk’s office and more. It is vital for the Macomb City Hall to have effective public relations with its internal and external publics. To help this organization, there must be research, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This campaign has used surveys and content analysis of a local newspaper to research the organization. Planning for this campaign includes goals, objectives, strategies, tactics, a timeline and a budget. Further, the public relations plan draws from three different plans, the budget, campaign, and standing plans. Continuing, the plan will be hypothetically implemented and then evaluated as if it had actually been used. After research, there is an opportunity to improve the public relations this organization has. The problem statement for this public relations campaign is that the Macomb City Hall needs to enhance its image and have better communication with Western Illinois University students and Macomb community members, as well as with those that work within City Hall to run more effectively and have better relations with its various publics. Through the explained steps, this organization can better its public relations and work to be a more efficient organization in the Macomb community.
