Six-time Grammy-nominated vocalist

Six-time Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Nnenna Freelon lends her extraordinary talents to this multi-disciplinary work that examines the role of the clothesline in shaping American culture and traditions. Through dance, music, spoken word, and video Freelon as “The Muse,” together with a cast of singers, dancers and actors, gives voice to the untold stories of African-American washerwomen and other domestic workers.
