POSITION / TITLE: RESPONSIBLE TO: Technology Development Manager North America Business Director and Global TD Director (matrix reporting) Central Mexico July 29, 2014 LOCATION: DATE: JOB DESCRIPTION Primary Responsibility: Conduct hybrid performance trials independently for hybrid registration in coordination with Technology Development Dept. Identify suitable hybrids for the geography based on the performance parameters, lay out large scale product demonstrations to create the product visibility, keep constant update on the market trends (crop/hybrid requirements & behavior), competition assessments and the customer requirements. Also update on the technology requirements, policies and implementation. Major Job Duties; Accountability for sales, technical, communication and relationship building with UPM Advanta branded distribution partners for Mexico. Coordinate the TD activities relative to market segments, & : Make sure hybrid seed is received from breeders/ cooperators & yield strips are properly conducted Organize the experiments / Trials as per protocols Take notes on trials, input data, analyze data, summarize and interpret data for promotion decisions Together with Sale & Marketing Managers, help to promote hybrids to commercialization Ensure TD strategy, resources, network, and implementation are properly set up and deployed Manage according to company procedures, policy and employment law. Major areas of management to include customer contact management, technical understanding of products and cropping systems, communications skills, relationship building and account management. Work closely with the CRL’S/breeders, have a full understanding of the breeding work being done and able to link the breeders and the marketing managers through knowledge sharing Work with Product and Marketing Managers and other private label seed customers: Provide timely data to facilitate promotion decisions for product outlets Attend and present data at meetings to allow selection decisions on hybrid products Attend meetings with key customers Supply market input and data to help shape the product portfolio, experimental advancement and pricing in a timely and consistent manner. Provide to business development team following inputs; Review product and technology needs to provide direction on early pipeline support Provide feedback received from customers on performance of key hybrids to relevant stakeholders Provide feedback on key competitor products Ensure that all work related activities are carried out in a manner consistent with the Company Values, Culture & Procedures. Coordinate and Implement other agronomic and special trials designed to help product offering, including: Trials of new products offerings with Crop Production (e.g. seed treatments/ herbicides) Hybrid positioning trials (e.g. plant density, Fertilization & soil response, Adaptability to water stress experiments, etc.) Participate as an active member of the Advanta US executive management team representing the best interests of our subsidiary, the global organization and our employees. Act a resource for product training of sales and marketing staff Creates product positioning opportunities for the marketing managers on the strength of the well managed trials Significant travel and customer visits requirement as needed and strategically planned for efficient impact. Ability to understand and communicate complex instructions Travel – 30% - 50% Spanish & English language skills are required Compensation Salary and Bonus dependent on qualifications and experience
