POSITION / TITLE: REPORTING TO: LOCATION: DATE: Assistant Financial Controller Financial Controller - NAFTA Region Advanta US Corporate Office - Dallas May 2015 JOB DESCRIPTION Advanta US is an operating unit of Advanta, a global seed business that combines the most advanced techniques in conventional plant breeding with biotechnology to deliver world-class seed. Drawing on our global network of breeders and researchers, Advanta US is able to offer exclusive genetics and industry-leading hybrids in forage and grain sorghum. Primary Responsibility: Manage the Advanta US, Inc. finance, accounting, budgeting late-view, stock exchange reporting tax and audit duties. This will include financial management including cash management, insurance management both credit and PPE, frequent headquarter reporting, company processes & procedures, profit management, routine working capital management. Major Job Responsibilities Reporting Manage Fixed Assets including addition, disposal, and monthly recording of depreciation. Responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and other financial reports as required by headquarters and due dates. Accountable for developing the Advanta US Budget book and frequent late views Ensure accounts are closed timely each month. Compliance & Governance Work to ensure all accounts are reported in accordance with US GAAP and India GAAP as needed. IGAAP required training will be provided. Responsible for tax compliance from a local, state, and federal perspective directly or through outside help Review internal control processes to confirm segregation of duties and checks and balances are in place. Ensure compliance with all customer and grower contracts. Manage credit and PPE insurance. Coordinate and manage all audit activities including year end and internal audits to ensure timely completion. Manage customer credit process and exposure. Responsible for all local banking relations and daily banking decisions. Able to track and manage the bank covenant as per the facility letters for credit for the company. Manage the internal and external audit requirements of the entity and business. Planning & Analysis Review the fixed expenses each month for accuracy and recommend ways to realize savings. Ensure compliance with all customer and farmer contracts. Assist in developing budgets and forecasts. Additional financial analysis and projects on an as needed basis. Continually identify and review all areas directly or indirectly affecting cash movement looking for improvement and efficiencies. Key Skills and Requirements: Must be able to solve challenges effectively of routine nature. Ability to interact and work with a global corporate accounting and finance group. Ability to work in different time zones Ability and flexibility to work under different cultures. Ability to turn around the clarifications quickly. Maintain a positive presence during challenging times. Microsoft Office proficiency. Audit experience a plus. SAP proficiency desirable. Qualification and Experience : Current CPA certification 7+ years of experience as a Finance Manager in the areas of reporting, budgets, late-views, audits, tax matters, and managing insurance i.e., credit and PPE, assisting in liaison for the bank finances. Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent Experience Required. Master’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
